Macclesfield Young At Heart Club
The Young At Heart Club (YAHC) has been running for 20 years and is a social club for members of our community and surrounding districts who are aged over 50 years. Its membership boasts over 70 members of which 40 members attend our exercise classes.
There are no joining fees and there is no committee.
YAHC has a monthly newsletter email advising members of classes and events etc.
We have regular social outings such as bus trips, movie days, lunches, going to the theatre, supporting other local clubs and we hold workshops run by a local physio each year.
YAHC hold three exercise classes per week held in the Macclesfield Institute:
Monday - Fit Ball Class
Wednesday - Exercise and Strengthening Class
Friday - Exercise to Dance Movement Class.
All classes are run by trained Active Ageing Australia volunteers and cost $2.00.
Our Biggest Morning Tea in May for Cancer Council S.A. is a large fundraising event and this combined with other activities during the year, including money from the exercise classes goes towards this fundraiser.
The club has had many successes over the years including an award from Council of The Ageing (COTA) for our community activities.
